The Way of Wisdom: Walk With the Wise

Day 13 — 31 Days in Proverbs — The Way of Wisdom

Proximity Produces Growth

Proverbs 13 gives us a principle that is both simple and powerful:

“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” — Proverbs 13:20

Who you walk with shapes who you become.

Wisdom is contagious. So is foolishness.

You do not drift into wisdom in isolation. You grow in proximity.

Your Circle Shapes You

Conversations shape your thinking. Environments influence your decisions. Culture forms your instincts.

The people you consistently spend time with will either sharpen you or soften you. They will either elevate your convictions or erode them.

If you want to grow spiritually, get around people who are pursuing God. If you want to grow in leadership, get around people who take responsibility. If you want to grow in character, get around people who value integrity.

Not perfect people. Growing people.

Choose Your Direction

So here’s a better question for you to ask yourself today: Are the voices around you pulling you forward? Or reinforcing your comfort?

Over time, you begin to look like what you consistently walk with. Proximity becomes pattern. Pattern becomes direction.

Choose your circle wisely. Because who you walk with today determines who you become tomorrow.
