Don’t Miss This Moment

I grew up an LA Kings fan, even though I never played hockey. In my room I had this poster on my wall with a Wayne Gretzky quote (or was it Michael Scott?). Either way, it stuck.

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

That’s not just a sports quote. That’s a life quote. Because most people don’t blow up their faith with one big rebellious decision. They just drift. They hesitate. They delay. They get almost to the end of a season and mentally check out.

And today is one of those moments where you don’t need more hype, you need awareness.

This moment matters.

God doesn’t only work in big, dramatic breakthroughs. More often, He works in quiet crossroads. Moments where you decide if you’re going to lean in, or coast because you’re almost done.

We are almost to the end of the fast. So here’s the challenge: don’t drift at the finish line.

There’s a difference between hanging on and leaning in. There’s a difference between finishing and finishing strong. Today isn’t about forcing emotion or trying to manufacture some big spiritual moment. It’s simpler than that.

Stay available. Stay honest. Stay present.

Because God often does His deepest work at the edges of obedience, when you choose to be fully here instead of half gone.

If God has been forming something in you during this fast, don’t ignore it. If there’s been clarity, respond. If there’s been conviction, move. If there’s been a nudge, stop negotiating with it. If there’s been a hard decision, stop rescheduling it.

Some of you already know exactly what God’s been saying. The issue isn’t confusion, it’s courage.

And here’s the encouragement. On the other side of you taking your shot could be the start of something big God has always wanted to do in your life. Not because you earned it by fasting, but because you finally got aligned. You finally got honest. You finally stopped drifting and started leaning.

So don’t rush past today because you’re already thinking about what’s next.

Pray today for 15. Pray again. Ask more of God. Listen more closely. Worship a little longer. Shoot your shot.
