SEE THE RUINS. START THE REVIVAL.

“God, what do You want to rebuild through me?”

52 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 2

When Nehemiah heard that “the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and its gates burned with fire,” something inside him broke too. He didn’t ignore it or scroll past it. He stopped and let it hit his heart. That moment didn’t crush him; it called him. Purpose was born when he cared enough to notice.

Nehemiah could have stayed comfortable in the palace. He had security, safety, and a good life. But he stepped out of comfort and into calling. He walked toward the rubble instead of away from it. That’s where revival begins, when we stop living for ourselves and start asking, “God, what do You want to rebuild through me?”

At Kingdom City, that’s who we are. We’re builders of people and carriers of hope. We’re not waiting for revival to happen; we’re showing up to be part of it. Every time we pray, serve, or encourage someone, we’re putting another brick in what God is building.

Every week, I take the long way home through one of the most broken-down neighborhoods in our city. There are old buildings that once stood strong and beautiful, now cracked, boarded up, and forgotten. I love architecture, but I build people. And what I see in those buildings reminds me of what God sees in people, stories that have lost their shine, hearts that have gone unrepaired, lives that used to stand tall but now feel stuck in the ruins.

But here’s what I know. No matter someone’s past glory or present struggle, they are just one connection to King Jesus away from a radically greater future. And people who are hurting aren’t just in the difficult parts of town. They’re everywhere, in your cul-de-sac, in your school cafeteria, in the corner office, across the counter from you. People in need of love, forgiveness, and grace are all around us. That’s why we make spiritual movement an everyday decision.

Proverbs 11:25 says, “Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” When you pour into others, God pours back into you. When you help someone else find hope, your own heart starts to come alive again. Revival doesn’t start around you; it starts in you.

This isn’t about pressure. It’s about purpose. God is inviting us to see the world the way He does and to join Him in rebuilding what’s broken.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

Ask God to give you a burden for the people around you and a passion to do something about it. Pray for eyes to see what’s broken and faith to help rebuild it. Let’s build the Kingdom of God together, one person, one moment, one day at a time.

This is The Miracle of Everyday Movement.

The ruins around you aren’t reasons to retreat; they’re invitations to rebuild.
